Prof I Coetzee-Prinsloo is a professor at the University of Pretoria for past 27 years involved in the education and training of pre-graduate and post-graduate students. Her area of expertise includes: Critical Care, Patient safety and Higher Education. She has supervised post-graduate scholars to completion a total of 55 Masters students and 15 PhD candidates. She is an external examiner at several national and international universities. Prof I Coetzee has presented at various National and International Conferences relating Critical Care, Higher education, Patient safety and Practice development aspects. She has 40 published articles in National and International Journals. Prof I Coetzee is a Board member of World Federation for Critical Care Nurses (WFCCN). She is a faculty member of the African Federation of Critical Care Nurses (AFCCN). She is a visiting professor at Wollongong University in Australia as well as Mont Royal University in Canada. Currently she is the Co-Chair of the Jacaranda Branch of the Critical Care Society. Prof Coetzee has a passion for critical care and the development of critical care in South Africa as well as supporting colleagues in Africa to develop critical care amongst healthcare providers.
