Olivier JOANNES-BOYAU, MD, is a full-time clinician in a 35 beds intensive care unit and Head General Manager of the Anesthesiology and Critical Care departments (150 ICU beds, 40 operating rooms, +150 anesthesiologist and critical care physicians, + 600 nurses) in the tertiary university hospital of Bordeaux (France). He works in the field of acute kidney injury, Renal Replacement Therapy and multi-organ support therapies for about 20 years, has conducted or participated to many multi-center studies about sepsis, AKI and RRT and is a senior consultant for organ support therapies. He was Coordinator of the IVOIRE study, member of the scientific committee of the national study (ABDO-MIX) and a member of the executive committee of the international survey about epidemiology of AKI (AKI-EPI). He has been a faculty member and expert in several national and international congresses in the last 15 years. Member of the Council and Treasurer of the French society of anesthesiology (SFAR), Member of the European society of intensive care (ESICM) and the International Pan-Arab critical care medicine society (IPACCMS). Authors of more than 100 articles and book chapters in national and international journals and reviewer for many journals (Critical care medicine, Critical care, Intensive care medicine, Annals of intensive care, etc…). He is consultant and be part of advisory board or expert committees for companies as Baxter, LFB, Jafron or BBraun.
